MY APPROACH
My work is grounded in an Integrative Mental Health (IMH) approach, combining evidence-based therapies with complementary healing modalities. Because each person is unique, I draw from a diverse range of approaches to support you in reaching your unique personal goals.
My practice is trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and strength-based. I work from a foundational, holistic understanding that positive change in one area of life creates shifts in all of the others. With this in mind, our work together is designed to support not only symptom relief, but the development of a sustainable lifestyle that continues to support your well-being long after therapy ends.
I view my role as a therapist as supporting you in reconnecting with your inherent capacity for growth and healing. Under the right conditions, resolution and transformation unfold naturally—because our bodies, minds, and spirits are designed to move toward wholeness. In our work together, we collaboratively identify and gently remove the barriers that may be limiting your well-being—whether physical, emotional, mental, relational, environmental, or rooted in unconscious beliefs and unresolved experiences.

BACKGROUND
I began working in the field of mental health 15 years ago and before starting my private practice, I worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, residential facilities, addiction treatment centers, schools, and community mental health clinics. These were valuable experiences where I worked with diverse people with a wide range of challenges, backgrounds, and identities. My experiences in these settings also illuminated the limitations of our mainstream healthcare system.
While well-intentioned, most of what I saw offered to patients and clinicians, was narrowly focused on symptom management and cognitive-behavioral interventions. Through the many years I've invested in my education, clinical experience, trainings and personal growth, I've come to understand that real healing requires us to move beyond the mind and the suppression of symptoms.
Sustainable mental health requires addressing the root causes of our challenges, working through past traumas, and honoring the connection between our minds, bodies, and spirits. I am so grateful for biomedical and psychological science, which offer important insights and applications. However, I've found that science without soul doesn't get us very far. That is why I am so passionate about Integrative Mental Health. I believe in combining the best science and evidenced-based modalities we have available, with complimentary and alternative practices that support us with addressing the full spectrum of our human experience.
If you have tried traditional approaches talk therapy or medication and have failed to experience the results you were looking for-you are not alone, there's nothing wrong with you, and I've been there too! Things begin to shift in big ways once we understand the power of the mind-body connection, the subconscious mind, and the inter-relatedness of every aspect of life. If you're ready to move beyond the mind and try a more expansive approach to your mental health, I would love to support you.
